Vote now and vote often!

Each year CNN showcases ordinary people who do extraordinary things in their special segment CNN HEROS. This year, there are twenty-eight AMAZING individuals making an extraordinary impact on our world, in the categories of championing children, community crusaders, defending the planet, protecting the powerless, medical marvels and then three young people who have exhibited exceptional achievement before the age of 25. The work that all of these individuals are doing is inspiring.

One of the 2009 CNN HEROS is a bartender from Raleigh, North Carolina. I've not had the opportunity to meet Doc Hendley, but my close friend has had the privilege of his friendship for the past several years. Doc's organization, Wine to Water, has provided clean water to over 25,000 people in five countries. Wine to Water uses funds raised from wine tasting events to aid local communities in building clean water wells and sanitation systems in developing nations.

It's amazing the reach that each one of these CNN HEROS has, just by getting outside of their own heads, getting creative and helping others. We all give back in small or large ways, but by voting for one of these HEROS, we can help their organizations continue to grow and help those less fortunate...with a few clicks of the mouse.

Should Doc win the title of CNN HERO 2009, he will be able to bring clean water to over 6,000 more people worldwide. So vote now and vote often. There is no limit to the times you can vote or the assistance that these organizations can bring!
