The Daily Dots, Ed. 19

Date: 09.24.09

Your day was (only choose one)
(x) open-minded

Explain why: I was really the open-minded one. I woke up late (again). I was late to work (again), and I was prepared for the day to get worse before it got better (it did). But now, the day is wrapping up, I'm going to dog-sit for two seriously sweet yellow labs and I'm going to watch the two hour season premiere of Grey's Anatomy on a ridiculously large tv screen. What could be better?

Plants

h) go mad in cages and boxes

The Daily Dots, Ed. 17

Date: 09.22.09

Your day was (only choose one)
(x) a treadmill

Explain why: it just kept going and I didn't know if I'd be able to make it stop or jump off while it was still running without hurting others. (Translation: I wanted to hurt a lot of people today, but didn't think it'd be prudent.)

What should never change? The tides. I get tired of moving my beach chair. (And no, I do not need a lesson in the tides and the phases of the moon, blah blah blah.) Know what else should/will never change? My love for reality tv.

God has spoken to you. (x) Yes

You feel no remorse after tough decisions. (x) No - I do. Even if I know I made the right decision.

The friend who is most unlike you: this is a VERY difficult question to answer. I feel like all of my friends and I are very unlike each other, which is why we mesh so well. So I'll go with the easy answer - ALL OF THEM. (This could also be because I am insane and everyone else is normal in comparison.)

You can take a compliment without getting suspicious. (x) No - but I'm working on it!!

The Daily Dots, Ed. 16

Date: 09.17.09

Your day was (only choose one)
(x) an intermission

Explain why: I woke up, got ready for work, drove to work, spoke to my mother on the phone, parked, and realized it was only Thursday. WTF. I THOUGHT IT WAS FRIDAY FOR OVER AN HOUR. Then I worked all day, came home, ate dinner and watched Dirty Dancing. Thus, an intermission. And other than it not being Friday and having to work, it was pretty glorious.

Wishful thinking
3. changing people

Get a life
1. happy now and then

A waste of time
a. giving directions
e. ironing underwear

Others have fun, you don't. (x) No
(How sad if someone would answer yes to this question.)

The Daily Dots, Ed. 15

Date: 09.16.09

Your day was (only choose one)
(x) fresh

Explain why: Today, I received in the mail, my very first Filofax (in Raspberry!). And I am BEYOND excited. I've already started organizing my entire life and color-coding my entries. With my brand new Sharpie pens! Green is for social outings, black is for notes, blue is for work-related entries and red is for Junior League. (Any bets on how long the color coding will last? Taysaywhat isn't even giving me 24 hours.) Such a great day! (also? NERD ALERT)

Generally, you could be called a winner. (x) Yes

Who is usually a loser? Unfortunately, guys I date.

Do children like you? (x) Yes

If yes, how so? They think I am just a taller version of themselves. Due to my dewy complexion, obvi. And because I don't take myself too seriously. Or maybe it's just because they think they can get away with anything? Or because I usually come bearing gifts? I have no problem bribing children. None at all.

Something you find boring: drafting pleadings

Who needs to go away for a while? Me. To Philadelphia. To meet Reid. Because he doesn't appear to be a loser. (Progress!)

Who needs to come back soon? Kungfuvonny. And she is! Next weekend!

Your day was (only choose one)
(x) corn on the cob

Explain why: My day looked good to start with, was a painful experience during the consumption but delicious looking back at it. (Like corn on the cob, obvi.)

They relentlessly try to get me down.

This demands more perseverance: becoming Rachel Zoe's best friend.

It takes courage
b) to return a T-bone steak. or anything. I've worked in food and bev. Cooks get REALLY ANGRY when you return food. I don't want to be pissing anyone off having anything to do with something I'm consuming. No thank you.

What you might proclaim despite the consequences: I ADORE RACHEL ZOE. I DIE.

Failure is unavoidable. (x) Yes

Date: 09.09.09

Your day was (only choose one)
(x) a runaway train

Explain why: one word. WORK.
(and if you follow me on twitter - you already know the answer to why...)

Leaving aside property and privilege, what is your greatest advantage in life?
I read this out loud and my darling roommate taysaywhat said my positive attitude is my greatest advantage. She clearly doesn't read my tweets. (hola tay!) But she does have a point - I am an inherently positive person...however, it seems lately life is trying to beat it out of me. Therefore my answer (since this advantage is steadfast) is: my family. They drive me crazy, but I love them and they make my life.

Fate
1. a mother and a father
5. a goodnight kiss
7. Passover

Circumstance
3. well, not so well

Instinctively, you relate to the face of
(
x) the woman - obvi. she looks just like me.

On a side note - these e-sketches might be even better than the ones I did in the simple diary. I think I'm onto something here...

The Daily Dots, Ed. 6

Date: 09.07.09

Your day was (only choose one)
(x) making a fist

Explain why: See naïve thought from 09.06.09.

An odd neurosis that emerges before you go on a journey: fear of tire blow-outs. I've only had a blow-out once. And it really wasn't that traumatic, but now every time I'm driving 100+ miles I have this deep-seeded fear that my tire will blow and my car will flip and then there I'll be. Hanging upside down from my seat belt with no one to cut me out. Sigh.

Some dream of a white Christmas, while you are dreaming of a/an REAL vacation. Away from Charleston. To somewhere fun. And different. Like Portland. Or Mexico. Or anywhere in California. Or NEW YORK.

Somehow people don't return
a) sweaters

Your all-time favorite brand: Jcrew. But they are in serious danger of being bumped. GAP is on the rise and is fast approaching a takeover.

The Daily Dots, Ed. 5

Explain why: beach + friends + family + Surf Bar + Dangermuffin = PERFECTION.

The Daily DOTS - Ed. 2

Date: 09.03.09

Your day was (only choose one)
(x) sautéed

Explain why: I usually enjoy foods that are sautéed, assuming the item in question is tasty to begin with...those delightful morsels usually seem just right! And that was my day today. I worked, bought a new bed frame and headboard for my guest room from a fabulous furniture consignment shop (yay!), almost napped, walked/ran, had dinner out, did some laundry and scrubbed my kitchen! And then cleaned the rest of the downstairs of my house too! Weeeee!

You are great company: (x) Yes (x) No (depends on the day)

Luckily, you will never learn how to: scale a fish (I REFUSE)

THE WAY YOU SEE IT
b) To come and see it.

You want to learn how to: play tennis. My last tennis lesson was when I was 7 years old. I find this ridiculous. How will I ever be a LWL if I don't have my daily tennis game with my fellow LWLs???? (LWL = lady who lunches. obvi.)

You know more than you think. (x) Yes (at least I hope so)
